Common questions
How does Wishbowl make money?
Through Amazon affiliate links. When a wish points at amazon.de, we append a partner tag as it is shown to guests. If someone buys through it, Amazon pays us a small commission. Your price is exactly the same, with no extra cost.
Is the app free?
Entirely. No paywall, no ads, no accounts. The affiliate links cover the running costs.
Do you change my links?
Only in the view guests see, and only for amazon.de. What we store is exactly the address you pasted, and your app shows it unchanged. If your link already carries someone else's partner tag, we leave it alone.
What about links to other shops?
Untouched. We add nothing and earn nothing from them.
Why is there no account?
Because a wishlist does not need one. The list belongs to the device you created it on, and your guests simply open a link. The catch: delete the app and the list is gone, because there is nothing for us to restore it from.
Can I see who is giving what?
Not by default. You are told that something was reserved, never what — otherwise the surprise is spoiled. You can switch it on per list, which suits a wedding.
Why is the price out of date?
Prices are captured once when the link is added and never refreshed. Treat them as a guide, not a promise.
